How long have you been involved with MLP?

Since October 2011

What do you do for MLP?

Primarily, I look for affordable housing projects in stable location that have a value add to the local community as well as potential added value back to our partners.  Our focus is finding mobile home park opportunities in good locations that have potential, whether that be expansion possibilities, community development, or other value adds.  My role as a Project Manager is finding, sourcing, and then managing the process of securing these projects and then working to revitalize them.

How and why did you become involved with MLP?

Peter and I began talking about going into business together in 2011 and then formalized the Carolina Asset Group (our first venture together) in August 2012.  I’ve always had an interest in entrepreneurship and a drive to do something using the skills I have developed and when this opportunity came along, I knew it was something that would create a lot of success and fulfillment for me. 

Tell me about your work history and how you got to where you are now.

When I was 21 years old, I bought my first house, a rehab project in a good location that I continued to gut and revitalize.  This gave me an introductory lesson in how to rehab houses.  From there, I started a few other entrepreneurial projects, including a pay phone company and a surveillance company, but then started to dabble in real estate.  I got my real estate license while I was working for Michelin Tires and then went on from there to explore more real estate opportunities.  I always had a knack for entrepreneurship and I wanted to further explore that.

What interests you the most about your current role with MLP?

My ability to use all of the skills I’ve gained over the years to positively impact our community here in the Carolinas as well as our MLP Partners. 

When you are not working, what can we find you doing?

Probably looking for more properties!  I also have a wife and two kids that I enjoy spending time with and going on adventures with, such as camping.

Tell us a fun, random fact about yourself!

I trained in martial arts for 15 years and I have a black belt in Aikido.

About: Krysten Reilly serves as the Operations Manager with Morgan Legacy Partners. Before Krysten embarked in this career, she was working in hospitality management in New England, managing hotel and restaurant operations in Maine and Massachusetts. Krysten started her career in hospitality management first as the Assistant Food & Beverage Manager of a hotel restaurant but then quickly rose through the ranks to become the General Manager of two hotels within the same hotel group’s portfolio. Krysten holds a Bachelor of Fine Arts and a Master of Science from Syracuse University. Krysten lives in Charlotte, North Carolina, where she serves as Morgan Legacy Partner’s Carolinas representative.
